Art Biennale 2026
In Minor Keys
From May 9 to November 22, 2026, the 61st Venice Biennale of Art, In Minor Keys, will open its doors.
In Minor Keys invites visitors to slow down and attune themselves to artists who work at the boundaries of form — whose practices unfold like intricate melodies, heard both collectively and on their own terms. After the unexpected passing of curator Koyo Kouoh in May 2025, the Biennale has committed to realizing the exhibition exactly as she conceived it, with the support of her family and the team she herself had assembled.
For my Biennale visits, I select the works that strike me as most significant and set them in relation to the tensions and questions running through our present. The goal is not only to open up individual works, but to make visible how the curatorial vision brings them into dialogue with each other.
Alongside the main exhibition at the Arsenale and the Giardini, I also offer visits to a selection of collateral events and temporary exhibitions across the city — chosen for the quality of the work and what it contributes to current critical conversation.
