Viele widmeten ihr ihre Verse, einige machten ihr sogar Heiratsantr\u00e4ge. Doch Gaspara sch\u00e4tzte ihre Freiheit\u2014sowohl in der Liebe als auch im Geist\u2014und erfreute sich daran, Sonette zu verfassen, die sie in den Salons der feinen venezianischen Gesellschaft vortrug.<\/p>\n<p>Um 1523 in Padua geboren, zog Stampa nach dem Tod ihres Vaters mit ihrer Mutter und ihren Geschwistern nach Venedig. In den gebildeten Kreisen der Stadt gut integriert, wurde sie f\u00fcr ihr poetisches und musikalisches Talent bewundert. Sowohl ihre Mutter als auch ihr Bruder erm\u00f6glichten ihr, ihre k\u00fcnstlerische Lebhaftigkeit frei auszudr\u00fccken, eine Bedingung, die sie von ihren Zeitgenossinnen unterschied.<\/p>\n<p>Gaspara lie\u00df sich oft von der Liebe mitrei\u00dfen. Im Haus des Adligen Domenico Venier traf sie Collaltino di Collalto, einen Aristokraten aus Treviso, der den Beruf des Kriegers mit der Leidenschaft f\u00fcr die Poesie verband. Sie verliebte sich auf den ersten Blick in ihn und vertraute das Aufw\u00fchlen dieses schicksalhaften Treffens ihren Versen an: \u201eWelch ein Wunder war es, dass ich beim ersten Angriff, jung und allein, in die Falle ging\u201c, schreibt sie in einem der ihm gewidmeten Sonette.<\/p>\n<p>Es war eine leidenschaftliche Liebe, unterst\u00fctzt durch ihre gemeinsame Begeisterung f\u00fcr die Poesie. Doch Collaltino, obwohl von Gaspara fasziniert, erwiderte ihre Gef\u00fchle nicht vollst\u00e4ndig. Mit der Verwaltung seines Besitzes in Treviso und seinen Beziehungen zu Heinrich II. von Frankreich besch\u00e4ftigt, f\u00fcr den er auch als Kriegsmann diente, war er oft von Venedig abwesend.<\/p>\n<p>Gaspara verzehrte sich vor Kummer, und das Bewusstsein, von anderen M\u00e4nnern geliebt zu werden, tr\u00f6stete sie nicht. \u201eEr flieht vor mir; ich verfolge ihn; andere verzehren sich f\u00fcr mich.\u201c In drei knappen S\u00e4tzen bringt Stampa das Paradox von Lieben zum Ausdruck, die einander nachjagen, ohne sich je zu treffen, ein Strudel von Sehns\u00fcchten und Entt\u00e4uschungen, der noch bitterer wird.<\/p>\n<p>Mit demselben Ern\u00fcchterung erkennt sie die Schw\u00e4che von Collaltinos Zuneigung: \u201eIch bin des Wartens so m\u00fcde (\u2026) und er lebt fr\u00f6hlich auf seinen H\u00fcgeln.\u201c Als Collaltino sie nach drei Jahren einer unsteten Beziehung endg\u00fcltig verl\u00e4sst, wird Gaspara von Verzweiflung \u00fcberw\u00e4ltigt: \u201eVon da an zittere und schwitze ich, weine, verzweifle und sehne mich.\u201c<br><br>\nNoch einmal lieben<\/p>\n<p>Doch \u00fcberraschenderweise verliebt sich Gaspara nach einiger Zeit erneut: \u201eIch f\u00fchle ein Feuer, das dem ersten gleicht\u201c, schreibt sie in einem der vierzehn Sonette, die Bartolomeo Zen gewidmet sind, ihrer letzten und stabileren, erf\u00fcllenderen Liebe.<\/p>\n<p>Mit neuem Enthusiasmus gesteht die Dichterin in einem ihrer ber\u00fchmtesten Sonette, dass die Liebe f\u00fcr sie ein Lebenszustand ist: ein Feuer, das sie n\u00e4hrt und erneuert, wie der Salamander, mit dem sie sich identifiziert:<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Die Liebe hat mich so gemacht,<br>\ndass ich im Feuer lebe,<br>\nwie ein neuer Salamander in der Welt, <br>\nund wie jenes andere nicht weniger seltsame Tier,<br>\ndas im selben Ort lebt und atmet.<br>\nAll meine Freuden und mein Spiel<br>\nsind im Brennen zu leben und keinen Schmerz zu f\u00fchlen,<br>\nmich nicht darum zu k\u00fcmmern, ob der, der mich dazu bringt,<br>\nviel oder wenig Mitleid mit mir hat.<br>\nKaum war das erste Feuer erloschen,<br>\nentz\u00fcndete die Liebe ein anderes, das, wie ich empfinde,<br>\nnoch lebendiger und gr\u00f6\u00dfer ist als zuvor.<br>\nUnd ich bereue nicht, liebend zu brennen,<br>\nsolange der, der mein Herz neu erobert hat,<br>\nmit meinem Feuer zufrieden und gl\u00fccklich bleibt.<br><\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Gaspara Stampa starb 1554 im Alter von nur 31 Jahren an Fieber. Trotz der Kritik des 19. und fr\u00fchen 20. Jahrhunderts, die Gasparas Offenheit schockierend fand und ihr k\u00fchnes Stil nur einer Kurtisane zuschrieb, wird Stampa heute als gebildete und freie Frau gew\u00fcrdigt.
